Malala Yousufzai who was shot by the Taliban militants in Mingora area of Swat on her way back home from School, rose to fame after writing blogs for the BBC.
In one of her blogs, which she wrote by the pen name of Gul Makai under Taliban’s rule in the scenic Swat valley, the girl wrote ” My mother liked my pen name Gul Maki ans said to my father why not change her name to Gul Makai? I also like the name because my real name means “grief stricken”.
The attack on Malala Yousufzai has stirred a heated debate on whether negotiations with the militants should be held or not.
The girl is recuperating in Peshawar’s Combined Military Hospital where Pakistan’s powerful military chief arrived and vowed the army would not bow down to extremits.
