Colombo: West Indies has qualified for their first final of the T20 World Cup, defeating Australia by 74 runs in the second semi-final of the 2012 event.
Chris Gayle and Pollard played an important role in the win against the one of the most dangerous side of the world.
The Australians, while chasing a huge target of 205 runs, were bowled out at 131 runs. The Aussies captain George Bailey tried his best to lead the team to the final but failed in his attempt as no other batsmen accompanied him to accomplish the mission.

The Caribbean bowlers bowled exceptionally well to restrict the world class batsmen. Rampaul, who took three wickets, remained the leading bowler for West Indies accompanied by Narine, Pollard, and Badree, who shared two wickets. Samules also took one wicket in the match.
Earlier, blistering innings from Chris Gayle, 75 runs from 41 balls and Pollard, 38 runs from 15 balls, helped the Caribbean team to post a huge target of 206 runs.
The Australian bowlers failed to stop the flow of runs and took four wickets in the inning.
