Tunceli: A powerful blast, targeting military vehicle, reportedly killed seven people in the eastern Turkish city of Tunceli, the country’s media report.
The blast occurred when an armoured police vehicle was passing through a downtown thoroughfare on Tuesday.
That the city is near the Kurdish area of Turkey, the authorities are suspecting Kurdish rebel group the PKK was behind the explosion.
The Turkey, the US and the European Union have designated the PKK as terrorist group.
In the past few months, fighting between the outlawed group and the country’s military has escalated.
