Pakistan govt to join protests against anti-Islam film: Malik

Islamabad: Following the footsteps of religious and other political parties, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has announced that the government and the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will take part in protest rallies on Friday against the release of anti-Islam film.

Talking to media persons on Wednesday in Islamabad, Malik said that they would make a joint strategy with the help of all the companies over the use of mobile phones in terrorist activities.

Referring to a Karachi blast, which targeted a Bohra community on Wednesday, the interior minister said that the country was facing new wave of terrorism, adding that the terrorists wanted to blast inside the bazaars but the strict security measures by the administration had restricted them.

“My role has been limited after the constitutional amendment…I cannot go everywhere like ‘Rainbow” by holding a gun,” Malik said while mentioning media reports.
