Rawalpindi: An-anti terrorism court (ATC) on Monday exonerated 21 people, including Red Mosque (Lal Masjid) cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz in the murder case of a Rangers official.
The verdict was announced by ATC Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman. Aziz along with his 21 companions and family members was booked in the case after the Lal Masjid army operation in Islamabad in 2007.
Moreover, the the court also issued arrest warrants for four of the accused in Rangers murder case. One of the accused, Khalid Khuwaja, a former ISI officer, has been killed by militants.
It is to mention here that that Abdul Rashid Ghazi, a brother of Maulana Abdul Aziz was killed during the operation as he had refused to surrender.
“Today, Allah almighty has awarded us with another success and court verdict has proved that Pervez Musharraf’s allegations were wrong,” Aziz said while talking to media outside the court.
