Karachi: A new wave of sectarian violence has badly affected Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan, as unidentified men opened fire on a mosque, belonged to a banned outfit, in Federal B Area, killing two people.
On Friday, a bomb targeted a bus carrying Shiites in Gushan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi, killing one person and injuring 10 others.
According to sources, unidentified men opened fire near Taqwa mosque, at Water Pump area of FB area, injuring two people which later succumbed to death. One of the deceased was identified as Maulana Shakir Ullah.
The incident raged violence across the area, prompting the shopkeepers to close the markets.
“The bodies have been shifted to a local hospital in Karachi while police and law enforcement authorities were trying to overcome the situation.”
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain also urged people to foil conspiracy of sectarian violence across Pakistan.
It is to be mentioned here that at least six people have been killed in separate incidents of violence across the city.
