Jerusalem: Hyginex, Israeli startup company, has created a bracelet to lessen healthcare risks around hospitals and medical practices.
The digital bracelet works with sensor embedded soap dispensers to detect if the user has washed their hands properly.
This bracelet also has a tiny red LED light that reminds medical staff to wash their hands after each patient.
The technology works through a wireless connection and the results of the device are sent to the hospital managers.
Poor hand hygiene results in infections which are the cause of over 90,000 deaths in the US alone.
Efrat Raichman founded Hyginex in 2008 after his uncle got an infection in a hospital and passed away. He is of the opinion that the bracelet will not only save lives, but also save the healthcare system a lot of money.
