Islamabad: Muslims across Pakistan are observing Shab-e-Qadr on Wednesday night. Shab-e-Qadr is a highly virtuous night and it is found to be on the odd nights of last ten days (ashra) of Ramzan.
The night has also given importance in Islam as Holy Quran was transferred on the holy heart of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in this night.
Shab-e qadar refers to the night of blessing. Among the nights of Ramzan is one special night, which is better than a thousand months. Good deeds performed on that single night are equal to those performed over a thousand months.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to strive hard during the last ten days of Ramzan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did I’tikaaf during the last ten days of Ramzan.
Muslims often pray extra prayers on this night. They remain awake, pray, and hope Allah will give them anything they may desire on thisnight. Mostly, they perform recitation of Quran and offer Nawafil prayers.
Special security arrangements have been put in place at the mosques and other venues of prayers across the country.
