Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday stressed that in order to ensure survival of democracy in the country both the Parliament and judiciary should accept each other.
Speaking via telephone in a programme of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation, Hussain urged all political parties to sit together on the current situation of Pakistan.
He said that there was a grave danger of the country being divided into pieces due to the current political situation.
Altaf also said that Pakistan was going through a particularly difficult period in its history.
On extortion and law and order of Karachi, the MQM Chief alleged that terrorists were being secretly patronized and the entire Pakistan was being held hostage at the hands of extortion and Parchi mafias but the rulers continue to observe a criminal silence on these issues.
“Is it MQM’s fault that weapons (from other parts of the country) come into Karachi after passing through thousands of security checkpoints,” Altaf Hussain reiterated.
He demanded to know as to why the governor and chief minister of Sindh are silent over this issue.
He regretted that people belonging to Hindu community were migrating from the country to India despite Quaid-e-Azam’s statement after Pakistan’s coming into being that followers of religions other than Islam were also Pakistanis.
