Islamabad: The three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday charged Malik Riaz, the real estate tycoon, with contempt.
A three-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Ejaz Afzal and Justice Athar Saeed framed change against Riaz for press conference against the judiciary.
However, Malik Riaz has denied the charges.
Riaz’s counsel, Advocate Dr Abdul Basit, said his client had filed an intra-court appeal and requested the proceedings to be halted until the appeal is heard.
Later the bench adjourned the hearing of the case till August 29.
