Karachi: Death toll of peacocks continue to rise in Thar region Pakistan as three more birds were died of viral disease called ‘Ranikhet’.
According to a report, two peacocks were died under the treatment of wildlife department at Bepohar, while the third one severely struck by the Ranikhet danced to death at Bhanbhan in the district of Tharparkar, taking the death toll to 165 thus far.
Local people said that the root cause of this viral disease is the hens, which spread among other avian including the peacocks and it could not be controlled unless it is eradicated from where it originates.
