Multan: After his disqualification from Supreme Court of Pakistan, former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for the first time has arrived in Multan, Pakistan’s city of Punjab province, via train.
Thousands of supporters and party workers accorded a warm welcome to former prime minister and PPP senior vice chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani upon his arrival.
Senior PPP leaders including Raja Riaz, Syed Ahmad Mujtaba Gilani, Haidar Zaman Qureshi, district president Javed Hashmi, Sardar Munir Akbar Haraj, Humayun Khan, Mazhar Khan and a number of supporters reached the railway station to give a warm welcome to their leader. Mureed Hussain Qureshi, the brother of PTI vice chairman Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, also reached the railway station to welcome the former PM.
People showered rose petals over the ex-prime minister and chanted full throat slogans during the stay of train at Multan railway station.
Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani kept waving hand in response to the warm welcome accorded by the people in his honour.
Addressing the crowd, the PM Gilani thanked people for the warm welcome and their support.
The ex-PM announced to launch a campaign for the formation of Seraiki province and said that he was punished for raising the issue of Seraiki province.
