Brandon Roy, former Portland Trail Blazers star has narrowed his free-agent finalists and is expected to hold meetings with five teams viz. Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors.
Yahoo! Sports reported that some teams pursuing Roy privately say they’re willing to offer a contract for longer than one season, despite his knee issues, league sources said.
After team doctors pushed Roy to stop playing last year, the Blazers used the league’s new amnesty provision to pay him the remaining $63 million on his contract and make him a free agent. He’s been working out for several months and planning a comeback.
Roy, who has averaged 19 points for his career, played five often spectacular seasons for the Blazers where he became a three-time All-Star.
