Milan: The number of earthquake deaths in Italy has risen to 17 on Wednesday, with 350 people injured and 14,000 lost their homes.
Rescue teams on Wednesday pulled the last body from the rubble of the Haematronic factory in the town of Medolla, and over 60 aftershocks were registered in northern Italy last night.
Smaller earthquakes were registered all day yesterday and the strongest earthquake of 5.8 magnitude was registered around 9 am and its epicentre was between the towns of Carpi, Medolla and Mirandolla, B92 reported. More earthquakes were noted in Italy after three to four hour.
Seismologists have warned that aftershocks are possible.
The Italian authorities have declared a national day of mourning on Monday.
