Islamabad: Pakistan has said that issue of Dr Shakil Afridi is country’s internal matter and the United States should respect court decision .
Foreign Office Spokesman Moazzam Ali Khan told media on Thursday that Pakistan condemned US drone attacks and options of United Nations Security Council and International Court of Justice were opened.
He said that the US strikes were in violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
“I think as far as the case of Mr. Afridi is concerned, it was in accordance with Pakistani laws and by the Pakistani courts, and we need to respect each other’s legal processes,” Khan told reporters.
Foreign spokesman Moazzam Khan said Pakistan had decided to attend Nato’s summit in Chicago due to Afghanistan.
Khan added that Pakistan’s stance on Drone attack was clear and they were unlawful and unacceptable.
In reply to a question regarding where Drones were being flown from, Khan replied that Islamabad was not aware of whose land was being used against Pakistan.
Khan further said that the Drone issue would have to be resolved on a bilateral level through dialogue.
