Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that number of judges would have to be increased in district court for speedy justice.
He said that the Constitution provide the country with democracy and violation of the Constitution created several problems in the past.
He this while speaking at meeting of Law and Justice Commission on Saturday attended by chief justices of High Courts, Federal Shariat Court, Attorney General. Law Secretary, Justice rtd Karim Khan Kundi, Iqbal Haider and Abid Manto.
In his inaugural speech, the CJ said amendments were needed in numerous  laws to meet the needs of modern era.
The meeting will discuss issue of amendments regarding granting bails to breast-feeding mothers, pregnant women and addressing the faults in investigation process.
