Port St. John, Florida: A mother shot her four children dead in Florida on Tuesday and later committed suicide in Port St. John, officials said.
Dispatch records show that authorities responded to Tonya Thomas’ house on three successive days in April.
Tanya Thomas, the mother and three of her children died on the spot while Thomas’s elder daughter, Pebbles Johnson, 17 was initially injured but later succumbed to injuries.
The other children were Joel Johnson, 12; Jazlin Johnson, 13; and Jaxs Johnson, 15.
No suicide note was found in the home, but Tod Goodyear, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Lt., said a witness told police he received a text from Thomas earlier that said she wanted to be cremated with the children, CNN reported.
“Unfortunately he did not see that text or read it on his phone until he woke up this morning … well after the incident occurred,” Goodyear said.
“I cannot comprehend as a parent doing this to their children … calling them back in and shooting them,” he said.
