Peshawar: At least seven militants including a close aide of Hakeem ullah Mehsud, leader of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was arrested from Peshawar, Pakistan’s city of Khyber Pakhtunkhua province, sources said on Monday.
The sources said that the arrests were made when law enforcement agencies launched a raid, based on secret information, in Hayattabad phase VI area of Peshawar, resulting in the arrest of seven militants including four important TTP commanders.
“These militants were involved in the different abductions including the abduction of Professor Ajmal of Peshawar University and Iranian diplomat,” they added.
The arrested militants were shifted to a secret place in order to investigate regarding their upcoming plans.
