Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday regarded Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif’s demand for prime minister’s resignation as contempt of court and requested Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take a suo-motu notice over it.
Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, Malik warned Sharif that he should act within the domain of politics and should not try to take up judiciary’s role.
The interior minister accused that PML- N was giving statements against the prime minister to divert public’s attention from the Mehran-gate scandal.
