Karachi: The Sciences Academy of Turkey has given honorary membership to Pakistan’s leading scientist in Chemistry Dr. Ata ur Rehman on his contribution to the science.
Prof. Dr. Atta is the former head of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and presently working as Coordinator General of Organization of the Islamic Conference Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
He is also a leading figure in field of Organic Chemistry with over 800 research publications on his credit. He has so far written over 103 books published from United States, Europe and Japan.
Dr. Atta, who is credited with modifications and advancement of higher education in Pakistan, has supervised 75 students for Ph.D studies.
A recepient of Tamga-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Nishan Imtiaz, Atta would now be a part of the Turkish Academy of Science.
