New York: Tension between Ultra Orthodox Jews and secular Jews are on the rise in Israel after the latter demanded equal rights for the women in different parts of the life.
Anat Hoffman, a leading member of secular Jews community who is currently lobbying for lifting the segregation of women in buses says we just want equal rights for every Israeli.
Hoffman was arrested while praying at the western wall by the local Police when she was demonstrating against religious pluralism in Israel.
“The act for which I was arrested is a common practice to reform Jews all around the world” She said in her recent Interview with Christiane Amanpour of CNN.
“Every Passenger may sit in any seat of his/her choosing (excluding seats reserved for people with disabilities). Harassing a passenger regarding his/her seating choice may constitute a crime,” Hoffman stated in a brusher which she use for demanding rights.
Secular politicians in Israel make greater concessions to the orthodox because the ultra-Orthodox are most obedient crowed in democratic game, she said while talking about the reason of the conflict between Ultra-Orthodox and most secular Jews.
Quoting a recent report Hoffman said that Ultra-Orthodox are in minority, they are only seven percent of total Israeli population.
