Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has agreed to the Delimitation of Constituencies (Amendment) Bill, 2012 and the Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Bill, 2012 on the advice of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, APP reported.
The Delimitation of Constituencies (Amendment) Bill, 2012 seeks to bring
The provisions of the Delimitation of Constituencies Act, 1974, in conformity with Articles 51, 106 and 218 of the Constitution are sought in the Delimitation of Constituencies (Amendment) Bill, 2012 which were amended in the Constitution (18th Amendment) Act, 2010.
The Senate passed the bill on November 3, 2011 and forwarded to the National Assembly, which passed it on January 4, 2012 after some amendments and returned to the Senate.
It was again passed by the Senate on March 4 the current year. It has been passed by the parliament under clause (3) of the Article 70 of the constitution in joint sitting held on 30th March 2012.
The Pakistan Trade Control of Wild Fauna and Flora Bill, 2012 seeks to give effect to the United Convention on International Trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora.
National Assembly passed the bill on the 29th December 2010.
