Karachi: Provincial Departments of Sindh have demanded from the provincial government to provide funds of Rs. 224 billion for next fiscal year on account of annual development program (ADP).
This would increase the ADP funds to about 10 to 12 percent as compared to last year’s funds, officials in Sindh Government revealed.
The demand from the departments came after Sindh Planning and Development (P&D) department summoned recommendations for annual budget of 2012-13.
All the provincial developments sent their recommendations asking to allocate a total of Rs. 224 billion to execute uplifting projects in respective fields. Provincial Education Department sought highest funds for ADP.
After recommendation from P& D department, the provincial government has decided to increase ADP funds up to 20 percent.
“This increase would raise ADP funds from Rs. 111 billion to about Rs. 130 billion,” the officials said.
“It has also been decided that in ADP more than Rs. 13 billion would be given to member of national and provincial assemblies elected from constituencies of Sindh to carry out developments projects in their respective areas.”
