Lahore: Young Doctors’ Association extended their province-wide strike in Punjab on Monday against transfers and postings. They boycotted their services at the outpatient departments (OPDs) of government and public hospitals.
The YDA has extended its boycott to the rest of the Punjab against transfers and postings of their colleagues by the provincial health department.
Patient across the province are suffering as the operations, indoor and outdoor services remain suspended for the fifth day.
No concrete steps had been taken by the government according to the association.
Meanwhile, a local petitioner challenged doctors’ boycott in the Lahore High Court against the association leaders. The court has summoned Secretary Health on April 23 in this regard.
Doctors said the strike would be continued till cancellation of transfers and postings.
