Jamshoro: The 44th death anniversary of Allama I.I. Kazi, founder vice chancellor of the University of Sindh, was observed on Friday at the Sindh University.
Accompanied by deans of faculties, heads of departments, teachers, employees and students, the acting
Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah led the wreath-laying ceremony.
She lauded the services of the late scholar for rendering his services for establishment of the University of Sindh and for higher education of the youth.
She said that Allama I.I.Kazi, apart from Vice Chancellor, was a great scholar and philosopher and authority on education, teaching of Islam and explaining poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
She said that during his life Allama I.I.Kazi used to deliver weekly lectures on different topics for the learning and education of youth.
Former Dean Faculty of Arts Dr. Kazi Khadim Hussain, a writer and scholar, delivered a lecture on Allama I.I.Kazi and his contribution towards education of youth.
He said that the University is remembering and observing death anniversaries of Allama Sahib since 44 years on regular basis every year and every year new group of audience come to learn about Allama Sahib.
“We must remember the people who dedicated their life for the betterment of society through education,” Dr Kazi added.
