Karachi: Zong has announced that it will charge 2 percent operational fee from April 10, which is 1.5 percent at present deducted along with 19.5 percent tax on every recharge of balance.
The overall operational fee will be deducted Rs 2.39 on Rs100 recharge instead of Rs 1.79, which means the hike of 60 paisas or 33.5 percent. The fee will be deducted in addition to 5 percent service charges and 10 percent withholding tax imposed by the cellular operators and government.
Zong official informed its customers
“Dear Customers in order to improve our services from April 10th, Operational fee on all recharges is being increased from 1.5 percent to 2 percent, (Govt taxes apply).”
Earlier, Telenor and Ufone increased the rate of their maintenance and service with by 0.5 percent in the past two months. Mobilink had already increased its Operational Fee by 100 percent to 2 percent in November 2011 on reload of balance for its prepaid customers.
This is the second time when cellular operators one after another increase their charges with different names. In June 2011, almost all of them had slapped 1.1 percent to 1.5 percent additional charges on different names.
