Islamabad: The 114th death anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan is being obser0ved in Pakistan on Tuesday (today).
He was a great visionary and statesman and commonly known as Sir Syed, he was an Indian educator and politician, and an Islamic reformer and modernist.
Sir Syed pioneered modern education for the Muslim community inIndiaby founding the Muhammedan Anglo-Oriental College, which later developed into theAligarhMuslimUniversity.
His work gave rise to a new generation of Muslim entrepreneurs and politicians who composed theAligarhmovement to secure the political future of Muslims of India.
He died on March 27, 1898 in Delhi (India).
