Islamabad: Former ISI chief Assad Durrani has said that money was distributed among anti-PPP politicians by him on the orders of then army chief Gen Aslam Baig.
In his affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday, the ex ISI head said that Mr Baig had taken instructions from then president Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
He said Baig had told him that the money would be distributed by election cell set up in the president house. He said that the money was provided by the business community of Karachi.
Durrani claimed that he was involved in the episode in personal capacity and the ISI had nothing to with the disbursement of the money amongst politicians.
He also denied presence of any political wing within the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
