Karachi: Zia-ul-Mustafa Awan, FCMA, is elected president of ICMAP for the period 2012-2014. He is the youngest president of the institute, since the institute’s inception in the year 1951.
He has attained this position at the age of 37 years, which is a symbol of emerging young leadership particularly in the professional institutions and generally as a global trend.
Awan has also an extensive and diversified experience of being an Educator, a Corporate trainer and Management Consultant.
He served the Institute in various capacities, since 2006. He was elected as Honorary Secretary and Chairman of Journal & Publications Committee of ICMAP for the period 2009-2011, Chairman of ICMAP Lahore Branch Council (LBC) for the year 2008, Secretary of LBC for the year 2007 and Member of LBC for the year 2006. During this period, he was also the Chairman of Research & Development Committee LBC 2008 and Chairman CPD Committee of LBC 2007 and LBC 2006.
Awan having vast professional experience in manufacturing, construction, engineering and services sector.
Presently, he is serving as Chief Financial Officer & Business Administrator of Expo Lahore (Pvt) Limited, a Joint Stock Company owned by the Federal Government through Ministry of Commerce and Punjab Government through Industries Department with a mandate to develop and operate Lahore International Expo Centre.
He has previous working experience with Descon Engineering Limited as a Financial Controller of Mega Infrastructure Projects such as Mangla Dam Raising Project & Mirani Dam Project and in Rustam Group of industries as GM Finance and Administration.
