Skardu: A Russian mountaineer, Vetely Gorillaiq, who earlier lost his fingers to frostbite during K-2 expedition and had to bring back to the base camp, lost the battle for life here on Monday.
The mountaineer lost all his fingers due to frostbite during K-2 expedition on last Friday. He had been shifted to the base camp and rescue operation to air lift him to Skardu could not take place due to inclement weather conditions, due to which the climber died at the base camp on Monday.
