Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has sought detailed report from the Federal Investigation Agency regarding casualties due to spurious drugs in Punjab.
A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Tassuduq Hussain Jailani began hearing suo motu case and asked why owners of medicine manufacturing companies arrested prior to fixing responsibility. The FIA Â told the court that it did so after receiving complaints from Drug Inspectors.
 Advocate general Punjab presented report of inspection team set up by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The SC after reviewing the report observed that it was incomplete. The advocate general said samples of drugs had been sent to Switzerland for examination and the government was waiting for the report to further proceed.
The SC ordered that two people arrested in the case be released on bail.The court also ordered that action be taken against those companies operating without license.
