Lahore: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has criticised former Supreme Court judge Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday for his interview with a private television.
He lamented that Ramday had no right to interpret the constitution. He said Ramday should not have given interview and respond to leading and suggestive questions hurled by the journalist Kamran Khan.
Ahsan said Ramday had started politic before the passing of tow-year time. He reiterated that Presdient Asif Ali Zardari enjoyed blanket immunity in and outside Pakistan under the constitution and Vienna Conventions unless he remained the president of the country.
“The immunity is not for a person it is for the office of president who ever occupies it whether he is Zardari, Leghari, Gulam Ishaq, etc,” he said.
“No criminal proceeding whatsoever shall be constituted against president until the tenure of his office,” Ahsan read a clause from the Constitution.
