Peshawar: US unmanned spy planes have been flying in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region, raising fears among the people, of another drone attack in the area, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the tribe’s men in North Waziristan came out of their houses and opened fire on the drones.
However, the shots could not cause any threat to the dangerous US machines for being on high altitude.
Pakistan has witnessed a long pause in CIA-operated drone attacks since Nato attack on its military checkposts in Salala, Mohmand Agency that killed at least 26 soldiers.
Anti-American sentiments are running high in the South Asian Islamic nation after the Nato aggression despite country’s continued efforts against extremists and military campaign against the home grown terrorists.
