New Delhi: The Indian Supreme Court on Monday extended the interim bail granted to former Union telecom minister Sukh Ram, 84, in a 1993 telecom case in which he was sentenced to three years imprisonment, local media reported.
The court will now take up the case for final hearing on August 7.
Earlier on January 9, the apex court had granted interim bail to Sukh Ram till January 16, who had surrendered before a trial court to serve his three-year sentence in the case.
Sukh Ram is accused of showing undue favour to a cable supply company and accepting Rs 300,000 as bribe when he was the minister.
