Lahore: Punjab Archives department, established by British government in 1924 under supervision of Prof Gyrer, preserved here centuries old seven hundred thousand invaluable historical documents and files including Ghazi Ilam Din Shaheed, Bhagat Singh case documents and Ghalib pension papers.
The department needs to secure historic documents by computerizing them. Secretary archives Punjab Shahnaz Nawaz said PC1 of the project had been sent three years before but the funds were not released.
The project cost Rs. 70 million which included CCTV installation in the archives.
The PC-1 again would be submitted to the provincial government soon, he said.
