Jamshoro: The Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh (SU) has constituted 8-members high powered enquiry committee to conduct detailed enquiry regarding assassination of Late Prof Bashir Ahmed Channer.
He announced the appointment of committee while addressing a condolence meeting in memory of Channer.
The meeting was attended by the Prof Vice Chancellors of University’s campuses, Deans of the Faculties, Directors, Chairpersons of teaching institutes and departments, Officers of the University at Senate Hall on Wednesday.
The Vice Chancellor also discussed the purpose of holding of All Parties Conference and Monitoring Committee for maintaining of law and order situation and promotion of peaceful educational atmosphere at the campus.
He said that number of meetings of the monitoring committee had been convened in this connection to maintain peace at the campus and added that we received appreciation letters and appreciation from the Governor Sindh on development of code of conduct.
The VC said that he has already announced that job will be given to one son and announced full tuition fee waver to two daughters of Prof. Channer who are studying in the University till the completion of University degree. He further announced that a sizeable amount on account of financial assistance would be given to family of Prof Channer.
The Vice Chancellor said that he will request government for the appointment of a judicial committee.
