Karachi: Prominent Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir has said that he is receiving life threats on his cell phone, apparently from some intelligence agencies.
Mir who has been criticizing country’s powerful military and intelligence agency ISI for its alleged interference in political affairs, told Geo News TV that Opposition leader Chaudhry Ali Khan was also being threatened from the same numbers and he had called for inquiry into the matter.
He told that Nisar also demanded security for him (Hamid Mir) and his family.
Mir said that he had informed Committee to Protect Journalists about the threats.
It is to mention here that Mr Mir had conducted two interviews of slain al-QaedaChief Osama bin Laden.
He also played a key role in bringing down almost decade-long tyranny led by Pervez Musharraf, and restoring deposed judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
