Baghdad: At least 57 people have been killed and several others injured in multiple blasts in Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday.
Officials said the blast occurred north and east of the capital, adding that at least 57 people were killed and 60 wounded.
According to AFP news agency, The violence comes with Iraqi politicians at loggerheads over a warrant issued for the arrest of Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki demanding that Kurdish authorities hand over the Sunni leader, who is holed up in their autonomous region. Hashemi denies the charges.
