Islamabad: Pakistan’s federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rehman Malik has said that there are no talks underway with the Taliban, adding that the talks only be possible when the Taliban would lay down arms.
He said that if Maulvi Faqir Muhammad is ready to hold talks with the Pakistani government than he should lay arms first and face the law of the land.
Talking to media persons Rehman Malik said that the Shamsi airbase is in control of army and US had been asked to vacate the airbase on the wishes of the masses.
He said that the issue of memogae is in Supreme Court, adding that his name is not in the matter of memo issue, adding that Mian Nawaz Sharif has been trapped on the issue.
Rehman Malik said that if the Taliban are ready to hold talks than they should first they should surrender their arms in front of political administration and vow to serve the masses of the country then the talks are possible with the Taliban.
He said that the news of talks with Taliban is based on speculations, adding that I am stick to the earlier statement regarding the holding of talks with the Taliban.
Rehman Malik said that the NATO supply would not be restored at any cost, adding that the decision has been made according to the wishes of the masses.
