Bonn, Germany: Afghan President Hamid Karzai has alleged that Pakistan was trying to make the Bonn Conference a failure by not participating in it. In an interview to a local magazine, he said the refusal of Pakistan to participate in the conference was a setback for the peace efforts in Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan would damage the peace talks with Taliban by not participating in the conference. He said a failure in Afghanistan would push the world back to a pre-9/11 level of insecurity.
He also said that the world community would have to continue to help Afghanistan even after 2014.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has refused to participate in the conference after a NATO attack on its soil left at least 26 of its soldiers dead.
