Islamabad: Post Usama bin Laden’s Al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri says his group is holding an American citizen kidnapped three months ago in Lahore, the second largest city of the Pakistan.
According to The News Tribe’s correspondent from Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, Al-Zawahri said in a video message Thursday that Warren Weinstein would be released if the United States stopped airstrikes in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Warren Weinstein was kidnapped by a group of unknown armed men from his residence in the eastern city of Lahore on August 13 this yeah. Later Lahore Police were arrested three people suspected of belonging to the gang that abducted a 70-year-old American national and US-Aid worker.
American wire service also reported that the video was posted on militant websites and released Thursday by SITE, a group that monitors militant activity.
