London: Former national cricket team’s skipper Salman Butt and fast bowler Muhammad Asif have decided to file appeal for transferring them to a prison in their home country Pakistan for completion of their jail term.
Sources said on Sunday, Both Pakistani cricketers imprisoned in London jail in spot fixing case have instructed their lawyers to file their petitions for transfer to Pakistan.
For approval of their petitions, both players will present their arguments that they are under threat from the dangerous prisoners in London jail so they should be transferred to their home country to complete the remaining term of prison.
It is expected that within next eight weeks, Pakistani cricketers’ lawyers will file petitions for their transfer.
After proving guilty in spot fixing case, a London court awarded 30 months’ imprisonment to Salman Butt and 12 months to Muhammad Asif.
