Sharjah: Pakistan’s spin attack provided five quick wickets in the second session on the third test and restricted Sri Lanka to 359/8 in Sharjah here on Friday.
The left-arm paceman Junaid Khan gave Pakistan an early edge by dismissing Jayawardene (37) in the fourth over of the day.
But bastman in form Kumar Sangakkara’s made 144 and provided support to Sri Lanka. He was out by Saeed Ajmal just after the lunch.
After this huge wicket spinners came back strongly and halted the Lankans to reach 400.
At one time Sri Lanka were 299-3 but could not managed to maintain the momentum and 5 wickets have fallen for just 60 runs
