Islamabad: Pakistan’s nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadir Khan has said that only one patriotic leader who keeps ability to select honest team can make the future of Pakistan bright.
Talking to a German magazine, he said that Pakistan is full of talent, and its farmer and labourer can make Pakistan batter than Malaysia.
He said that Pakistan has become an atomic power and no one can capture its nukes, but Pakistan could be damaged through economic policies.
Dr Qadir said that today Pakistan was in very strong position despite America slapped economic sanction over it in the past. Ties with America should be made on equality basis, he suggested.
He went on to say that nuclear power generation was not an appropriate option for the solution of power crises in the country. Referring to the reports regarding nuclear power generation, he said there were misunderstandings in this regard.
The nuclear scientist added that nuclear power generation was not only expensive but also very lengthy project. He said that small atomic reactor produces 300 megawatt electricity within 10 years with an approximate expenditure of one billion rupees.
He said that installation of these nuclear reactors can be beneficial for America and France because they manufacture these reactors, but these projects cannot fulfill Pakistan’s electricity requirements.
Dr AQ Khan said that hydroelectric power generation was not only beneficial but also cheap for Pakistan.
