Lahore: Hundreds of pensioners of Pakistan Railways staged a protest demonstration against non-payment of their pension in front of the railways headquarters on Tuesday .
The protesting pensioners told The News Tribe, a UK-based website, that they had not been paid pension for the last two months, which led them to starvation.
They condemned the treatment meted out by the railway administration to its retired workers who served the organisation for decades.
Meanwhile, the railway pensioners have also staged a protest against non-payments of pension in Karachi.
PR officials told media that the organisation has urged the government to provide Rs4 billion for payments of salaries, pension, diesel and utility bills.
They said that pension for the current month would be disbursed within next two or three days.
