Lahore: The dengue fever claimed five more lives including four women in Lahore on Thursday, taking the death toll to 230 in the provincial capital.
According to our correspondent, two women died in Meo Hospital while a man lost his life due to the dengue fever in the Combine Military Hospital (CMH).
The women 76-year-old, Rafiqa and 58-years-old Rahat Bano died in Meo Hospital, the hospital spokesman said.
Shabeer was third victim of the dengue virus in Lahore on Thursday who lost his life in the CMH.
Sources said that Robina, 45, resident of green town lost her life in Jinnah Hospital while another lady died in General hospital.
The disease is a threat to nearly half of the world’s population. Of the estimated 220 million people infected each year, two million develop a severe form called dengue hemorrhagic fever.
