Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed annoyance over the government for its failure to run the country’s affairs.
A SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing on a petition against the non-payment of salaries to Punjab pilot college project employees.
“Tell me is there any ruler in the country, who is responsible of running the government” the CJ remarked.
He termed the non-payment of salaries to the employees a cruelty and said “ do you know what happens when salary is not given to poor”. He directed the government to pay the salaries till afternoon.
The CJ said that the court was also observing issues of non-payment of salaries to Lady Health Workers and Pakistan Railways employees.
