Lahore: As many as six more people died of dengue in different hospitals of Lahore on Wednesday, bringing the death toll from the deadly virus to 196 in the city and 209 in Punjab.
According to official sources, Shaukat Manzoor, 65, resident of Achra, Abdul Hameed, 40, of Sanhdla, Shahbaz Anwar,62, of Gulshan-e-Rawani, Usama, 15, of Shad Bagh and two other patients fell prey to dengue in CMH, Ganga Ram and other hospitals.
Number of dengue patients and deaths are on the rise in Lahore, despite the fact that fumigation and awareness campaigns are being organised in highly affected parts of the province.
The provincial government invited Sri Lankan and Indonesian experts to cope with the situation but the deadly out break doesn’t seem to be controlled so far as dengue continues to grip the people in constant state of panic.
