Lahore: The Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that he wished the main culprit in the rape case had not been granted bail by the court.
Talking to media on Sunday after visiting the home of a rape victim, he assured the victim family that the culprits responsible for the crime will be punished and justice will be brought to the raped student.
Shahbaz said that a committee had been set up to investigate the issue.
Sharif said that the girl wanted to study further and the government will be responsible for all of her educational expenses.
It is pertinent to mention here that the 17-year-old girl, a student of first-year in local college, was gang-raped in the Shahkot area of Punjab.
