Kabul: A US-led NATO serviceman has been killed in a Taliban attack in southern Afghanistan on Saturday.
The attack occurred in the south of the country, the Associated Press reported, citing a brief statement issued by the Western military alliance.
However, NATO did not release the identification of the victim.
According to official figures posted on the website icasualties.org, a total of 454 foreign troops have lost their lives in Afghanistan so far this year.
Last year was the deadliest year for foreign military with a death toll of 711.
The security situation has been deteriorating across Afghanistan over the past few years despite the presence of some 150,000 foreign forces.
